Do you have a healthy self-esteem? Or are you just
hiding behind the mask of a "self-confident" man? On the social
media, many times we meet people who do not even know what does it mean to have
a respect to yourself and a healthy self-esteem. On the other hand,
we often meet people with inappropriate self-steem, but that is
a different story.
The environment in which we are growing up and the different
requirements of the modern world can diminish our self confidence. Certain
beauty “norms“ and demand a perfection. Even when we have gone a long
way, we have been trying to reach our goals, and have achieved a success
we doubt about us. "You are useless.
You are stupid. You do not have this! You are too weak, fat, thin, etc."
And what does the word self confidence mean? To be aware of yourself. Your
values. Your qualities. With your abilities. Your talents, but also weaknesses.
With a healthy self-esteem and a respect to your body and yourself as
a person, you would be able to look critically on the social media
content, its demands and opinions. Or even demands, opinions, and comments from
others like peers, colleagues, or schoolmates. You will be aware of a constructive
critique, which may move you somewhere higher and learn you something new.
Rarely you will be feeling like comparing your physical appearance or
achievements with others. Most people are missing a self-confidence which
may lead to an unhappiness, depression, and mental health diseases.
